JSC JV «Zarechnoye» actively develops research and development work (R & D) aimed at improving uranium underground leaching technologies, increasing the efficiency of production processes and reducing the impact on the environment.


Implemented R&D

Research and development of technological parameters of underground leaching of uranium using sodium nitrite and ozone to improve the technical and economic indicators of production.

Performer:" Institute of high technologies " LLP

Results:

  • Increased uranium content in productive solution in experimental wells;
  • There was a decrease in the processing time of individual cells of the block and a decrease in sulfuric acid consumption by 5-10%;
  • The introduction of sodium nitrite transfer method will be expanded in 2025.

Completed R&D

  1. Research on the production of ammonium fluoride and bifluoride based on by-products produced by UMP JSC.

The goal: to provide uranium mining enterprises with domestic reagents and reduce industrial waste.

Results:

  • Technological parameters and economic efficiency are determined;
  • Proposals have been developed to further reduce costs and reuse fluorinated waste.

2. Investigation of vanadium sorption from MSU solutions to obtain a commercial product, ammonium metavanadate.

Contractor: KBTU JSC

Results:

  • Laboratory experiments and technological calculations have been carried out;
  • The need to refine the technology for industrial applications has been established.

Rationalization activities

JSC JV Zarechnoye is actively implementing initiatives aimed at improving the reliability of technological processes and reducing costs.

An example of an implemented solution:

  • A method of heating a pipe-in-pipe desorbing solution has been introduced to prevent the formation of solid sediment in desorption columns.

Result:

  • Production downtime is eliminated;
  • Reduced power consumption;
  • The economic effect in 2024 amounted to about 5.6 million tenge.

  • Increased extraction of uranium and related elements;
  • Rational use of industrial waste and reagents;
  • Implementation of energy-efficient solutions at all stages of production.
